Team Leader and Members Selected
For Poland-Ukraine-Belarus GSE
Heartland Rotarian Danna Szymanski will lead the District 5750 GSE team to District 2230 this year. The team will depart Oklahoma City April 19, 2008 and return May 19, 2008. Danna is Sergeant at Arms for her club. She is married to Paul Szymanski and the couple reside in Edmond with their three children. She is an advertising consultant for a telephone directory company.
“I am excited about the opportunity to lead the GSE team to District 2230 this year”, Danna said. “The GSE is a wonderful program that I have heard much about”.
Team member interviews were conducted Monday, January 7, 2008. Team members selected are Megan Elliott and Sheri Guyse.
Megan is office coordinator for Accel Financial Staffing. She is sponsored by Club 29 of Oklahoma City. She is single. She attends Oklahoma City Community College and has attended classes at Central State University.
“My hope is to learn as much as possible from the host country’s young professional”, she said. “In learning them, I will be better equipped in understanding the correlation of the United States to varying international communities and incorporate those ideas and procedures into my professional life.”
Sheri is the Public Relations and Business Development Director for the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. She has a BA in Journalism from University of Central Oklahoma and is married with two children.
“Participating in the GSE program will have an enormous impact on my career”, Sheri said. “The experience will improve and refine me as a person and it is terribly exciting to even think of that process unfolding. I’m not just speaking of the trip, but of the process afterwards. Distilling the adventure into words and speeches for the community. I look forward to it.”
There is one more team member position available for the GSE to Rotary District 2230. Applicants must be professionally employed, a non-Rotarian and between the ages of 25 and 40.
